Weekly Roundup 23 - 28 September 2023
Disposable Vapes, Battery Recycling & The RWM
This week’s newsletter educates readers on what is going on in the industry as well as how Superfy is supporting the circular economy across different verticals. At the RWM (Resource and Waste Management) Expo in Birmingham recently, we unveiled our latest disposable vape collection solution to enhance how they are collected and tracked digitally.
Single-use disposable vapes are the industry's biggest challenge to date
It is estimated that 1.3 million single-use e-cigarettes or ‘vapes’ are thrown away in the UK alone every week. Manufacturers and distributors have come under pressure due to the mass production of waste from their disposable vapes. The added safety concerns from these battery-based products amplifies the need for a tailored solution in the collection and recycling of these products.
The Superfy cloud-based software platform, sensors and smart containers continuously monitor the fill level of vapes in the containers and any rise in temperature. This information is used to streamline collections and enhance safety using optimized routing and automatic alerts.
